5 Must-Have Organizing Supplies for Your Home

As a professional organizer, I’ve tried countless products to help create those perfectly organized spaces that make life a little easier. Today, I’m sharing my top 5 favorite organizing supplies that I can’t live without. These products not only keep things neat and tidy but also add a touch of style to any space. Plus, I’ve thrown in a few jokes to keep things fun—because who says organizing has to be boring?

1. Clear Stackable Storage Bins

☆☆ The Home Edit 8 Piece Multipurpose Edit, Plastic Storage Organizing System, Clear ☆☆

These clear stackable storage bins from the Home Edit are a game-changer for any closet, pantry, under the bathroom sink or even cubbies. The transparency makes it easy to see what’s inside without having to dig through everything. The set comes with 8 pieces including 2 big cubes (10x10x6) and 6 smaller cubes that can be used inside of them or separately. The smaller bins fit perfectly in most kitchen drawers (including the elusive junk drawer) and are a rectangle to eliminate wasted space. They’re perfect for storing everything from shoes to snacks. This set is made exclusively for Walmart and are the best for price, quality and value.

2. Label Maker

☆☆ Phomemo Label Maker, Bluetooth Thermal Printer for Barcode, Address, Home, Mailing, Small Business,Clothing, Portable Label Maker Machine with Tape, with 3 Label ☆☆

A label maker is essential for any serious organizer. Mine is purple because that's my favorite color and I got mine from Amazon. I own 5 different label makers for my job, and will probably get more over time, so this isn't the standard or cheapest version you can get. This one is however my favorite because of all the things it can do. First, it works with an app on my phone. Second, it has tons of different fonts and paper sticker sizes, including clear paper for clear acrylic bins. Best of all, it prints images! You can even import pictures from your phone or any website. Imagine labeling all your holiday decor or kids' storage with a simple image. It only prints in black ink and because it's thermal, you'll never have to buy ink cartridges. That was a huge seller for me. I've tossed many desktop printers just because the ink was more expensive than the printer itself. #Facts! Plus, there’s something incredibly satisfying about seeing neatly labeled containers and shelves.

● PRO TIP: Everyone does NOT NEED their own label maker and I sometimes clean out offices where it was used once and never again in 5 years. So, if you'd prefer to label your containers, you can always find pre-made labels on Amazon for any category that you need. Feel free to comment and I'll send you some of those instead.

3. Over-the-Door Shoe Organizer

☆☆ Amazon Simple Houseware 24 Pockets Large Clear Pockets Over The Door Hanging Shoe Organizer, Gray (56" x 22.5") ☆☆

Amazon Product Link: https://a.co/d/557nYf1

Anytime I work with small spaces, utilizing a door organizer is key. This isn’t just for shoes! An over-the-door shoe organizer can be used for storing cleaning supplies in a linen closet or bathroom, craft materials in a small space, stuffed toys in a bedroom closet or toy room or even snacks in a pantry. It’s a fantastic way to utilize vertical space and keep items off the floor. Depending on what you'd like to store, message me to get some alternative recommendations.

4. Drawer Dividers

☆☆ Life wit 8 Pack Drawer Dividers 4" High,11-17" Adjustable Dresser Drawer Organizers for Clothes, Expandable Dresser Separators in Bedroom/Bathroom/Kitchen/Vanity/Office Organization and Storage, White ☆☆

Drawer dividers are a must for anyone who wants to keep their drawers from becoming a jumbled mess. They’re great for separating socks, underwear, office supplies, or kitchen utensils. You’ll wonder how you ever lived without them. You can get them in any finish to match your drawers. Expansion is the key. I also try and avoid ones that require stickers or glue of any kind. I'd rather not ruin my furniture for aesthetic reasons. The ones above are the ones I always use for my organizing clients. Please measure your drawers for depth (front to back) before you order some.

5. Velvet Hangers

☆☆ Utopia Home Velvet Hangers 50 Pack - Non-Slip Clothes Hangers - Black Hangers - Suit Hangers with 360 Degree Rotatable Hook - Heavy Duty Coat Hangers - Pants Hangers ☆☆

Amazon Product Link: https://a.co/d/2tvSEzb

Velvet hangers are a closet’s best friend. They’re slim, which saves space, and the velvet material keeps clothes from slipping off. They also add a touch of luxury to your closet. Having all of the same hangers is key so try to avoid colors that may not be available in the store 5 years from now. Stay classic with black. I love to get mine in bulk from Sam's Club or Costco, but they are sold anywhere from Walmart, Target or my favorite store, Home Goods. If you are replacing all of the hangers in your closet, you will probably need 100- 150 depending on how many clothes you have.

With these 5 organizing supplies, you’ll be well on your way to creating a more organized and efficient home. Happy organizing!

Why did the organizer go to the comedy club? To get everything in order and have a laugh! Do you need to borrow the Dad Jokes book? Maybe do a little brushing up?
